DPS Telecom Introduces New Building Access White Paper

Fresno, Calif. -- DPS Telecom, a leading developer of network alarm monitoring solutions, announced today that it has released a new white paper in its growing series of Alarm Monitoring Survival Guides. The latest addition, "How to Deploy an Advanced Building Access System", provides detailed insight into successfully launching a building access solution across a large, geo-diverse network.

"Many small- to medium-sized telecommunications companies don't feel that it is cost-efficient to deploy building access systems," said DPS President Eric Storm. "With theft and vandalism on the rise, however, this couldn't be further from the truth. In our newest white paper, we demonstrate how integration with network alarm monitoring makes building access systems fit within your budget, protecting your expensive infrastructure from unauthorized intruders."

DPS has long been a leader in the alarm-monitoring industry, and its new Building Access System (BAS) brings physical site security into the DPS product line. "We developed our Building Access System by working with our clients and listening to what they needed from an access system," said Storm. "Our new white paper takes the information we've collected and makes it available to network professionals worldwide."

"How to Deploy an Advanced Building Access System" is an in-depth review of the need for access control. It explains the costly threats associated with traditional locks and highlights valuable system features to look for when talking to vendors. It also reviews the considerable cost of theft and vandalism, highlighting a regional telecom company that achieved an outstanding security solution by integrating access control with their existing alarm monitoring system.

The white paper also details the many opportunities for advanced access control that are now available to network professionals. "Our decades of developing perfect-fit monitoring solutions provided us with the opportunity to develop an architecture that integrates advanced building access methodologies into our monitoring platforms," said Mark Carberry, DPS Director of Engineering. "By incorporating monitoring and access control technologies, we've slashed the cost of deploying an access system and added product benefits that just aren't possible without alarm monitoring integration."

DPS publishes a wealth of technical content for their clients and site visitors, including their complete white paper series. "We've been deploying building access systems within varying network architectures for years," said DPS CEO Bob Berry. "Over time, I realized that there simply wasn't any good information about building access available to network professionals. So I decided to create a white paper that goes beyond the raw technological aspects of building access. If you want to know how you can assess your security exposures, develop a business case, protect your assets, and leverage your manpower, this white paper is for you."
