DPS President's Letter: April 2016

Marshall DenHartog, DPS Telecom President
Marshall DenHartog
President

Welcome to the first edition of the DPS President's Letter! I'm Marshall DenHartog and I am the President of DPS Telecom. I'm excited to share with you the some of our latest news.

This quarter, our focus is largely on improving and modernizing in a variety of ways. From improving your web-interface user experience to bringing Factory Training to more of you, we're making our equipment and services better for you!

T/Mon Web Interface

Recently, DPS released the very first version of our web-based T/Mon Edit interface. It was a big leap forward - and it made editing your units and monitoring your remote sites easier than ever. But, there's always room for improvement. We are constantly evaluating your user experience and making updates to our interface to ensure that monitoring your sites is as easy as possible.

To help facilitate these changes, we have started a collection of online video tutorials that will walk you through setup of various aspects of your T/Mon, featuring the new web interface. These guides provide visual instruction, recorded by our engineers, to help you configure your T/Mon as quickly and painlessly as possible.

Our first video: Initial Configuration And Setup Of Your T/Mon Master, walks you through the first steps you will need to take to get your T/Mon up and running.

Moving forward, we will continue to make tweaks to the web interface, improve the user experience, and make video tutorials to make your job easier.

Like our first video? Have an idea for a video tutorial you would like to see? Tell us about it!

Remote Factory Training

DPS Telecom has been hosting Factory Training classes at DPS HQ in Fresno for over 10 years. The class provides you with the opportunity to learn the ins-and-outs of your DPS equipment from the very engineers that designed it. The class is offered about 6 times a year, lasts 4 days, and covers RTUs, T/Mon, and SNMP - with an optional half day covering ASCII protocol.

Recently, we took Factory Training on the road to Las Vegas, Nevada for the first time - ever. While Las Vegas provides a draw, the intention was to make the training accessible to more of our clients. A typical class size for Factory training is anywhere from 5 to 12 students. With remote training, we were able to host 32 students (most of which had never had the opportunity to attend).

The location eliminated the need for connecting flights from major airports to our smaller airport in Fresno, CA. This reduced travel time and cost for many attending the class. It also gave the opportunity to our native Nevada clients to attend training as well.

Are you interested in DPS Remote Factory Training? If you have always wanted to attend a DPS Factory Training Class, but couldn't, let us know. Maybe the next Remote Factory Training will be in a city near you!

Trade Shows

Both Factory Training and trade shows share one very important benefit in common: they both allow us at DPS to interact with our clients, face-to-face. Therefore, this year we are making a big effort to attend more trade shows all around the US and Canada.

Want to meet the DPS Engineers? What to get live demos of our equipment? Trade shows are the perfect time to do that! Talk to us in-person and learn more about our equipment at these trade shows this quarter:
