Building Access System Options

The DPS Telecom Building Access System (BAS) can be configured in several ways. You can install LAN-based entry control units and configure these controls via the web, set up a centralized building access master without any additiona monitoring capabilities, or you can integrate the remote monitoring and control system with building access control (to leverage the same infrastructure that's used for both).

Building Access Control

Standalone Building Access Control
In this simplest configuration, you'll install LAN-based devices near each of your doors. You'll be able to control and configure these devices via an intuitive web interface you can access from any internet browser.

Centralized Building Access Control

Centralized Building Access Control Only
If you have a lot of doors, and no network equipment to monitor, you can deploy a T/Mon BAS unit to monitor and control access to all of your entry points. This is ideal for those who only need the entry control components, without the extra equipment used for network monitoring.

Building Access and Control Monitoring

Building Access Control and Monitoring
In this most complex configuration, you use the same infrastructure for your alarm monitoring and control system for your building access control. A T/Mon master station and NetGuardian RTUs form the foundation of this system, with entry control units (ECUs) and proxy readers applied to each NetGuardian to control access to each door. This setup is ideal for those who need to control access to entry points in addition to monitoring network equipment. You can get two benefits from a single equipment deployment.
