Merry Christmas!!!

2006 has been a record-breaking year for DPS. We have had record-breaking sales & production output. Engineering has been very productive with the introduction of new monitoring technology as well as the re-engineering of product for increased manufacturability (just in time). Our Marketing and Accounting departments have had their fair share of growth and initiatives they've undertaken. Of course, HR has been very focused adding lots of new faces to the DPS team.

I'd like to thank all of you for your patronage and making us your choice for your alarm monitoring infrastructure.

This issue of the protocol focuses on site security. We will also be visiting with National Grid, a long-time DPS client, to find out some of the insights they gained during a recent factory training event.

Today, security is more critical than at any other time in history. As sites become less populated and more isolated, they can become attractive targets. Equipment, services, and, most importantly, employee safety can be compromised if your sites are not properly secured. In this issue, you will receive an introduction to the various aspects of environmental alarming, camera surveillance, and facility access control.

I'm also proud to announce that we have added proximity readers to our Building Access line. Instead of having to type a code into a keypad for the NetGuardian to unlock your door, you can now conveniently wave a proxy card in front of a sensor. As always, we have our client base to thank for giving us feedback on how to make our products better fit real-world needs. You talk, we listen. It's just that simple.

Attention all AlphaMax users: we have a new version of T/Alpha for Windows that will be released shortly. It brings this configuration platform up to the same software generation as our NGEdit configuration utility for our NetGuardian. This update will be released shortly to the "My DPS" area of our website.

DPS will be closed from 12/25/06 through 1/1/07 so our employees can celebrate the holidays with their families. Emergency technical support will be available during this period. On behalf of all of DPS, may you and your family have a wonderful holiday season.

Until next year…

Eric Storm, President of DPS Telecom
