DPS President's Letter: Q3 - July 2017

It's officially Q3, and that means many of you are starting budgets for 2018. As you plan for next year, don't forget to include monitoring in your budget. It's an important preventative measure that is often overlooked when networks expand.

DPS is also planning for the rest of 2017 and beyond. Here's what's we're doing this quarter:

Tech Support

Our Tech Support has always been a source of pride for us at DPS. Not many companies offer free, 7x24 tech support to their clients like we do. That being said, we constantly look for ways to improve your support experience. Here are some of the updates we have recently made to the process:

  • Improving knowledge sharing throughout the support team. We don't want to spend any of your time hunting for an answer that someone at DPS already knows.
  • Adding new staff to help your front-line support rep. For more involved support issues, we'll often set up a replica of your system in our offices for testing. We've added a team who will set up these test rigs - so your support reps can resolve more of your problems in less time.
  • Using new quality tracking methods to feed data back to Engineering. Our ISO9001 certification already requires extensive tracking of client-affecting issues. We're going above and beyond that standard by passing even more events back to the Engineering team. This ensures that any problems are solved for all related products after we see them for the first time.

Factory Training

This quarter, we have a variety of training classes, including our first international class. The DPS Factory Training Crew, in partnership with Eastern Independent Telecom, will be hosting a class in Brockville, Ontario. Just like our other remote classes, this class will cover RTUs, T/Mon, SNMP, and more.

This quarter, we also have our annual Advanced Factory Training class. This class goes more in-depth into each training topic at an accelerated rate. It's definitely not for beginners. If you haven't attended our Factory Training before, but you feel like you're a power user of T/Mon, contact us to talk about Advanced Factory Training.

Q3 Trade Shows

This quarter, the DPS team will be attending two trade shows. Make sure to stop by the booths and chat with our staff about what's new at DPS!

  • APCO 2017~ Denver, CO ~ August 14-15, 2017:
    DPS will be at APCO, a conference and expo focused on public safety. Come see Ashley and Mariam at booth 622.
  • ISE Expo ~ Orlando, FL ~ September 13-14, 2017:
    Come see the DPS team at booth 933 for live demos of several different DPS RTUs and the T/Mon Master Station.
