DPS President's Letter: Q3 - July 2016

Marshall DenHartog, DPS Telecom President
Marshall DenHartog
President

As Q2 ends and we move into Q3, there are lots of things to be considered. Many of you are starting budgets for 2017, planning expansions and building new infrastructure. Q3 brings about an air of growth and change and that's no different for us here at DPS Telecom. Here's what's going on this quarter:

T/Mon Web Documentation

As our T/Mon Master Station evolves, so must our documentation. As the T/Mon interface has become primarily web-based, we are reorganizing our documentation to provide a better experience. Now, T/Mon documentation will focus more on completing tasks such as "Setting Up Device Polling" and "Enabling Analogs".

We feel this is a better approach to documentation and empowers you to really be hands-on with your T/Mon master station. This new documentation will take two forms: a quick start guide that will help you with initial start up and a user manual that will be more in-depth.

In addition to PDF/printed documentation, we are continuing to release video tutorials on your most-requested T/Mon topics. Visit our T/Mon video tutorial page to see the latest videos.

Metal Shop Optimization

At DPS, one of our greatest assets is our metal shop. All of our units are made with durable metal that is cut, bent, and powder-coated in-house. Made-in-America products are hard to find these days, and we're proud to offer that to you.

Having our metal shop in-house also allows us to control every step of the process and gives us the flexibility to make custom-fit solutions tailored to your needs.

That's why we take every opportunity to make sure our metal shop is running optimally. We recently reviewed our metal shop processes and made some updates to our procedures. While quality has been solid, we wanted to eliminate waste and improve production time. These may seem like little things, but they do add up and help us deliver your orders even faster.

Advanced Factory Training

DPS Telecom's annual Advanced Factory Training course is this quarter, September 12 - 14, 2016. If you've already been to a regular Factory Training Class and want to either brush up on your knowledge or go a little more in-depth into the topics covered, this is the class for you. It's a 3-day course at DPS Telecom HQ in Fresno, CA and it covers several topics. Just like regular training, it is taught by our knowledgeable engineers.

Never been to training but interested in learning more? While advanced training may not be for you (yet), there is still an opportunity to attend a regular Factory Training Class. To see this and other class dates, check out this year's Factory Training class schedule.

Trade Shows - Florida and Texas

This quarter, the DPS team will be attending two trade shows. Make sure to stop by the booths and chat with our engineers about whats new at DPS!
