Derived Alarm Automation on Your NetGuardian RTU

Derived, or 'Soft', Alarms are alarms that are created using software logic. Derived alarms give you the flexibility to customize your alarms and get valuable information about your site.

Many of the RTUs manufactured by DPS Telecom come with Derived alarm functionality. In the video above, Andrew walks you through how to set up a derived alarm for unexpected generator run time. With just a few settings, he is able to write a logic equation that sends you an alarm when the generator is running unexpectedly. This is just one example of the capabilities of derived alarms, and with the easy NetGuardian web interface, you will be able to configure your own derived alarms in no time.

Derived Control Relays and Virtual Alarming can be created from derived formulas depending on what is required for the application. The logic is placed directly on the RTUs user interface
